Kate Hudson launches vodka

Film star Kate Hudson is the latest celebrity to move into the drinks world with the launch of King St. Vodka.

Kate Hudson is fond of a Dirty Martini

The brand was inspired by Hudson’s memories of hosting friends at her former home in King Street, in New York City, and was distilled in small batches in Santa Barbara, California.

“I have always found the spirits industry fascinating, and I love Dirty Vodka Martinis,” said Hudson. “The creative side of me thought it would be a fun challenge to develop a vodka for my palate, and in a beautiful package that I would love to have on my bar and share with friends.

“The businessperson in me is now looking forward to the challenge of building a brand in an entirely new industry.”

Hudson, star of films such as Almost Famous and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, is co-founder of activewear and lifestyle brand Fabletics and recently launched her own clothing line, Happy X Nature. She is also the author of two lifestyle books.

King St. Vodka is described as a “spirit for every experience”. With an RRP of US$24.99, the vodka will initially launch in California, followed by New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
