Every week, SB celebrates some of the top scoring Master medallists from The Global Spirits Masters blind-tasting competitions.

More than 50 medallists from The Global Spirits Masters series will be exhibiting their award-winning products at the Wine Show Chelsea this weekend (18-20 October).

Held at the Chelsea Old Town Hall in London, the event is organised by The Spirits Business and sister title the drinks business.

Products available to sample will include multiple gins, such as Elephant Gin, St Giles Gin, Affinity Gin, Orkney Gin Company Rhubarb Old Tom, Sling Shot Distilled Irish Gin, Scilly Gin and a selection of flavoured gin liqueurs from Edinburgh Gin, to name just a few.

During the Gin Masters 2019 blind-tasting competition, St Giles Gin was one of two Master medallists in a flight of ultra-premium London Dry expressions.

The biggest competition in the Global Spirits Masters series, this year’s gin blind-tasting saw more than 300 expressions assessed by an expert panel.

Applauded for being “vegetal and citrus”, St Giles Gin (42% ABV) is produced by the Norwich Dry Gin Co in England. It is made with 11 botanicals including rose petals, lemongrass and grains of paradise.

According to Norwich Dry Gin Co, St Giles Gin has “citrus notes of grapefruit and lime, punctuated by hints of peppery spice” on the nose. The palate has a “soft fruitiness of ripe berries, spice and underlying mellow earthiness” followed by a floral finish.

The Norfolk-based producer also makes St Giles Divers’ Edition (Naval Strength) and St Giles Raspberry, Rhubarb and Ginger.

St Giles Gin is priced at £39.95 (US$51.50) per 700ml bottle.
