Magic Rock Brewery launches High Wire Grapefruit Gin

Craft brewery Magic Rock has partnered with Adnams to create a pale ale-inspired spirit – Magic Rock High Wire Grapefruit Gin.

Magic Rock High Wire Grapefruit Gin uses grapefruit fusion to add further “sharp grapefruit” flavours

Developed in partnership with Adnams Southwold at the Copper House Distillery, High Wire Grapefruit Gin was inspired by Magic Rock’s High Wire Grapefruit West Coast Pale Ale and is the UK brewer’s first spirit. The gin is said to be “packed with zingy, zesty flavours, spicy botanicals and smooth citrus flavours”.

Magic Rock High Wire Grapefruit Gin is made using botanicals including juniper, coriander, cardamom, orris root, orange peel and grapefruit peel. It also uses a post-distillation grapefruit fusion to add further “sharp grapefruit” flavours.

Richard Burhouse, Magic Rock CEO, said: “It’s been over a year in development, but we’re delighted to finally have our House Gin in bottle. We’re so pleased with how well the grapefruit flavours work to deliver a refreshingly ‘Magic’ taste on a classic G&T.”

Priced at £40 (US$51) per 700ml bottle, Magic Rock High Wire Grapefruit Gin will be available to order from the brewery’s website from Friday (18 October).

The bottle for Magic Rock High Wire Grapefruit Gin features a reverse-applied label that incorporates a design similar to the branding on the brewery’s beer portfolio. Designed by creative director Richard Norgate, the bottle features a graphic design highlighted with orange, green and white patterns.
