Global cultures inspire St James’ cocktail menu

St James Bar at London hotel Sofitel St James is preparing to launch its Passport menu, which features drinks inspired by flavours and cultures from around the world.

The new menu at St James includes the Mexico-inspired La Bandera

Launching on 1 November, the bar’s latest menu is designed to look like a passport, with each cocktail displayed with a stamp from the country it is inspired by.

Cocktails on the menu are influenced by countries including Japan, Iceland, Greece and the US. Drinks include the La Bandera, inspired by Mexico and made with Calle 23 Tequila, Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, avocado liqueur and ginger beer reduction.

The list also features the Apothecary, inspired by France and made with Miclo EDV Pear, Bonal, grape leaf cordial, pine, honey and lime.

Alongside each drink’s description, the menu will feature QR codes that, when scanned, will direct guests to a short video showing how the cocktail was created.

As well as the bar’s internationally-inspired cocktails, St James will also offer a menu of non-alcoholic cocktails, global whiskies, Champagnes and wines. A menu of bar snacks created in partnership with Anthony Demetre of Wild Honey St James will also be available.
