Alcohol-free Highball Cocktails range launches in UK
The Original Free Drinks Company has released a range of ready-to-drink (RTD) non-alcoholic cocktails to meet growing demand for zero-ABV versions of popular serves such as the Aperol Spritz.
The Highball Cocktails RTD range spans six variants including Mojito and Cosmopolitan
Described as the UK’s “first” range of 0% ABV RTD cocktails, Highball Cocktails is said to offer “authentic, sophisticated alcohol-free companions to some of the world’s greatest cocktails in single-serve bottles, cans and on tap”.
The range consists of six variants: Classic G&T, Pink G&T, Cosmopolitan, Mojito, Italian Spritz, and Ginger Dram. Each bottling is said to contain less than half the calories of a regular cocktail.
Highball Cocktails has been developed in collaboration with spirits expert and author Ian Wisniewski.
The Original Free Drinks Company said there has been “relatively little development” in the alcohol-free ready-to-drink sector.
Kate Johnson, co-founder with her husband Red, said: “We are passionate about providing great tasting and healthy alcohol-free alternatives that do not require a compromise, allowing consumers to have confidence in their positive alcohol-free choice.
“Our Highball Cocktails set a new standard in 0% flavour experience and we will continue to add more classics to the range, as well as introducing original cocktails of our own.”
The Highball Cocktails range has gained a listing with online retailer Dry Drinker. The firm is currently developing distribution relationships with on- and off-trade partners in the UK and globally.
Each expression in the Highball Cocktails range is priced at £2 (US$2.60) per 250ml bottle. It is available to buy in the UK.
Red Johnson, who is also the founder and CEO of the British Bottle Company, added: “High-quality, alcohol-free drinks with great brand recognition are in real demand, but is still underserved.
“Highball Cocktails is the first brand to create alcohol-free alternatives to Aperol Spritz or Pink G&T, two of the most popular cocktails right now.
“Our experience of working with brands such as Seedlip and Big Drop Brewery shows us that there is a growing global market for premium alcohol-free drinks and the UK is pioneering in this category.”
Last month, food and drinks producer Kraft Heinz partnered with Diageo to launch a new range of RTD alcohol-free Baileys iced coffees.
In April this year, low- and no-ABV bottled cocktail manufacturer Punchy added an alcohol-free Tequila-based Punch to its range.
