Vanguard menu celebrates 11 years of Connaught Bar

London’s renowned Connaught Bar has launched the new Vanguard cocktail menu in celebration of its 11th anniversary.

Number 11 is made with vodka, gin, Martini Ambrato, lemon oil, Chateau La Coste wine and bitters

Developed by Agostino Perrone, director of mixology, and head mixologist Giorgio Bargiani, the Vanguard menu features 11 drinks influenced by The Connaught Bar’s design, signature drinks and guests.

The menu is divided into three sections, which each feature five cocktails including a champagne serve and non-alcoholic creation. Enigma is a nod to the bar’s Martini, Strata was influenced by the bar itself and Verve honours the two iron gates that stand either side of the venue.

Perrone said: “It has been a labour of love of the entire bar team for the past nine months, and whilst we’re all constantly inspired by our travels and backgrounds, we have the luxury of being so constantly motivated by our immediate surroundings of the bar.

“All of the drinks are representations of deep research into each and every ingredient and how we transform them to create the very best taste and experience. We want to create flavours that are persistent on the palate, therefore leaving our guests always wanting more.”

Cocktails on the Vanguard include Number 11, found in the Enigma section and made with Grey Goose Vodka, Connaught Bar Gin, Martini Ambrato, Amalfi lemon oil, Chateau La Coste wine and a distillation of five bitters.

In Strata, drinkers will find the alcohol-free Flora, made with Aecorn Dry, purple cordial, London Essence Peach and jasmine soda; and The Dusk, which combines Avallen Calvados, blood orange and grains of paradise sherbet, Laurent-Perrier Champagne, Muyu Vetiver Gris Liquor and Electric Bitter.

Finally, Verve is home to the Beautiful Mind, which is made with Konik’s Tail Vodka, Empirical Spirits Fallen Pony, opoponax syrup, clarified pineapple juice and soda water.
