Jameson unveils new Caskmates whiskeys in US

Irish whiskey Jameson has extended its Caskmates range in the US with the launch of two limited edition expressions created in collaboration with Revolution Brewing and Bale Breaker Brewing Company.

Jameson partnered with US breweries Revolution Brewing and Bale Breaker Brewing Company on two new Irish whiskeys for its Caskmates range

The new Jameson Caskmates Bale Breaker Limited Edition and Jameson Caskmates Revolution Brewing Limited Edition Irish whiskeys form Jameson’s Caskmates Hyperlocal Editions.

The 40% ABV expressions were created after Washington’s Bale Breaker Brewing and Chicago’s Revolution Brewing travelled to Ireland to finish Jameson Irish whiskey in beer-seasoned barrels.

Both Caskmates Editions are recommended served neat, on the rocks or alongside a craft beer, such as Bale Breaker’s Topcutter IPA or Fist City Pale Ale from Revolution Brewing.

“Jameson’s commitment to local neighbourhoods is the cornerstone of our connection with whiskey drinkers and local tastemakers, across the country,” said Paul Di Vito, vice president for Jameson, Pernod Ricard USA.

“Having the opportunity to highlight a shared passion for artistry, with two breweries that have been a part of the Jameson family since the inception of Drinking Buddies programme in 2015, is a great feat for everyone involved.

“Jameson Caskmates Hyperlocal Editions allow us to put the spotlight on these local breweries, devising a spirit that embodies the taste of our neighbourhoods.”

Kevin Smith, head brewer at Bale Breaker Brewery, said; “Going to Ireland to collaborate with Jameson is a brewer’s dream. Our Topcutter IPA embodies where we’re from, and bringing a taste of our neighbourhood to the Jameson distillery to create our very own Caskmates Limited Edition was quite incredible.”

Jim Cibak, head brewer at Revolution Brewing, added: “Chicago has a strong Irish history and now we have an Irish whiskey of our own.”

The original Jameson Caskmates launched in 2013 as the result of a collaboration between Irish Distillers’ Midleton Distillery and Cork-based microbrewery Franciscan Wells. The Irish whiskey was aged in stout-seasoned barrels from the brewery.

In 2017, Irish Distillers launched Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition, an Irish whiskey finished in IPA beer barrels from Cork-based Franciscan Well Brewery.

Jameson Caskmates Revolution Brewing Limited Edition and Jameson Caskmates Bale Breaker Limited Edition are available from select retail locations and neighbourhood bars in the US for US$29.99 per 750ml bottle.
