Florida’s Disney World creates Star Wars cocktails

Walt Disney World Resort in Florida has unveiled a series of cocktails that will be on offer at the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge area ahead of its opening next week.

Oga’s Cantina will serve cocktails made with “unique ingredients using otherworldly methods”

The new area at the Florida theme park will open its doors on 29 August and visitors will be able to sample a number of Star Wars-themed cocktails at Oga’s Cantina bar.

Run by the boss of the Black Spire Outpost underworld, Oga Garra, Oga’s Cantina will serve speciality cocktails to “weary travellers from across the galaxy”.

Made with “unique ingredients using otherworldly methods”, cocktails on offer at the space-themed bar include the Jedi Mind Trick, made with grapefruit and rose vodka, falernum, blue curaçao, white grape juice, lime juice, and grapefruit bitters.

Adventurous imbibers can also sample the The Outer Rim, which combines silver Tequila, açaí liqueur, lime juice, pure cane sugar, black salt and exotic fruit purée; and the Dagobah Slug Slinger, which is made with reposado Tequila, blue curaçao, citrus juices, ginger, herbs and bitters.

As well as a menu of alcohol-infused creations, Oga’s Cantina will also serve up a selection of non-alcoholic drinks, such as Jabba Juice, made with orange, pineapple, kiwi, cantaloupe and blueberry popping pearls; and the Blurrgfire, which combines lemonade, pomegranate juice and habanero-lime.

The outpost bar will also offer beers, wines and ciders on tap.

While sampling the drinks, visitors can enjoy the musical stylings of DJ R-3X, a “quirky and talkative” droid that was first introduced at the park’s Star Tours motion simulator attraction.
