Spirited Awards reveals top 10 nominees

Tales of the Cocktail (TOTC) has announced the top 10 finalists for each category in its 2019 Spirited Awards following a “record number” of nominations.

TOTC has revealed its top 10 Spirited Awards hopefuls

The New Orleans cocktail festival received twice the number of nominations for its 13th annual Spirited Awards compared to 2018.

The top 10 nominees for each category were selected by international judging committees, comprised of more than 175 cocktail and spirits professionals.

“The Spirited Awards are the equivalent of the Oscars for the cocktail and spirits community,” said Neal Bodenheimer, co-chair of the board of directors of Tales of the Cocktail Foundation.

“As a foundation, we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on national and international talent who continue to set the bar higher and higher each year. We extend our congratulations to all of this year’s nominees.”

TOTC moved to new ownership last year and was turned into a not-for-profit.

The top four finalists for each Spirited Awards category will be announced on 24 June. The top 10 nominees for the writing categories will be announced on 20 June due to a high number of submissions.

The awards ceremony will take place during the TOTC festival on 20 July.
