Roust Russia names Alexey Gulevich CEO
Żubrówka vodka owner Roust has appointed Alexey Gulevich as CEO of its Russian subsidiary.
Alexey Gulevich has been promoted to the role of CEO of Roust Russia
Gulevich takes over the CEO role from Vassilen Tzanov, who will focus on “further development” of Roust’s Polish business.
With more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing in FMCG, Gulevich most recently held the role of vice president of sales at Roust Russia.
Prior to joining Roust’s Russian unit in 2017, Gulevich worked his way up from sales manager and country marketing manager to commercial director at Coca-Cola HBC between 2009 and 2017.
Gulevich will report directly to Pavel Merkul, CEO of Roust Corporation. He will be responsible for all aspects of the firm’s consolidated business in Russia, which is a “priority” for Roust.
In his new role, Gulevich will take on strategic planning and operational management of Roust Russia, including sales, marketing, finance, HR, production, supply and legal support of the business.
“The appointment of Alexey is a continuation of our policy to develop successful managers within the company,” said Merkul.
“Alexey not only has a deep knowledge of our business, but has also shown outstanding results since his arrival at the company.
“I am sure that Alexey will be able to make a significant contribution to further accelerated growth in sales volumes and revenue in our key market in Russia.”
As of 2018, Roust’s sales in Russia grew by 32%. According to the company, Russian Standard Vodka owner Roust is the number one player in the vodka market since November 2018. In December, the firm strengthened its position to a 12.3% market share (+2.3% compared to the previous year).
During the first quarter of 2019, Roust’s sales increased by 12.8% and reached 1.83 million nine-litre cases. During the period, vodka brands Talka and Green Mark witnessed double-digit growth, increasing 24% and 12% respectively.
