As the trend for all things pink continues, Spanish vermouth brand El Bandarra is set to launch a pink variant in the UK next month: El Bandarra Rosé Vermut.

The brand hails from Barcelona in Spain and has already released red and white vermouths. It was created by the Virgili brothers, the sixth generation from the Casa Berger Winery, which was established in 1878 to the west of Barcelona.

El Bandarra Rosé Vermut will make its UK debut at the Imbibe Live event in London in July.

The expression contains 30% less sugar compared to its white and red counterparts, which is said to make it “the lightest and freshest of the trio”.

The Rosé variant is made with organic Grenache grapes and macerated red fruit, plus fresh herbs including thyme and rosemary.

Bottled at 15% abv, El Bandarra Rosé Vermut is said to have notes of vanilla, strawberries and ripe cherries on the palate. It will be available in one-litre swing top bottles, a 15-litre bag-in-a-box format and in a 30-litre keg. One-litre bottles will be priced at RRP £22 (US$28).

Kirsty Loveday, founder of Love Drinks, which distributes the brand in the UK, said: “As a company we love to challenge the status quo and disrupt, so it’s fantastic to work with likeminded spirits such as the El Bandarra crew.

“They are doing a brilliant job showcasing vermouth as the fun, adventurous drink that it is, so we’re excited about the summer ahead.

“The new Rosé is a brilliant example of El Bandarra’s innovative team and further strengthens our offering as the buzz for vermouth increases.”
