Blue Bar menu ‘antithesis’ of ‘overwhelming’ drinks lists
The Blue Bar at luxury London hotel The Berkeley has launched its latest cocktail menu, which it says is the “antithesis of the expected extensive drinks list”.
Blue Bar at The Berkeley has launched the Meta Menu featuring 16 new cocktails
Featuring 16 cocktails divided into four categories, the Meta Menu at Blue Bar includes drinks described as Fresh & Easy; Elegant & Bubbly; Crisp & Clean and Rich & Bold. On each page, drinkers will find an illustration of the cocktail designed to “evoke the taste and sensory experience” of the drink.
The bar’s new Meta Menu features drinks made with “unexpected flavours”, such as yuzu and marzipan; banana and tobacco; and red pepper and apricot.
Drinks on the Blue Bar’s new menu include the Bread is Gold, which is made with rum blended with the hotel’s leftover bread and topped with caramel cascara, mead and Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée, and the Kryptonite, made with Bourbon, mint liqueur, cacao, and chocolate absinthe.
The alcohol-free Peachy Life features on the Meta Menu at Blue Bar
Andrea Melis, head bartender, said: “The Meta Menu was designed as the antithesis of the expected extensive drinks list, which people can often find overwhelming.
“We’re allowing guests to open, be guided by a mood or preference and discover incredible drinks from a tight and considered edit – all of which will instantly satisfy. You inherit a legacy when you join the Blue Bar and I hope the Meta Menu will become a significant part of the bar’s future.”
On the menu, imbibers will find four alcohol-free creations, such as the Peachy Life made with Seedlip Garden 108, orange, peach and jasmine.
A selection of the other cocktails featured in the Meta Menu range from 9.16% abv to 12.5% abv to appeal to the “low drinking guest”.
