Jack Daniel’s debuts Legacy Edition 2 bottle

Brown-Forman has released a limited edition bottle design for Jack Daniel’s, called Legacy Edition 2.

Jack Daniel’s Legacy Edition 2 celebrates one of the brand’s earliest labels

The Jack Daniel’s Legacy Edition 2 is the second release in the Legacy Edition series, and is inspired by one of the distillery’s earliest black labels from the early 1900s.

Legacy Edition, which launched last year, presents limited edition variations of labels used throughout the brand’s history.

The second Legacy Edition celebrates the introduction of the first mostly black colour palette and includes a rope and anchor to represent the brand’s “unmoving confidence”.

The original version of the label that inspired Legacy Edition 2 carried a “medicinal use only” disclaimer, suggesting that it was consumed when alcohol was sometimes advertised to have medicinal properties, likely in the early 1900s. However, the disclaimer won’t be included on the Legacy Edition 2 label.

“Everyone recognises Jack’s trademark black label, but very few realise that the Jack Daniel’s label has undergone many variations over the years, most of which looked very different from the one we know today,” said master distiller Jeff Arnett.

“This second release in our Legacy Edition series is not only an ode to one of Jack’s first black labels, but also a symbolic celebration of our enduring spirit and commitment to a single great whiskey recipe for more than 150 years.”

Legacy Edition 2 is available across the US and in select markets around the world.
