California-based Phenomenal Spirits is preparing to launch a 15-year-old bottling of its Ron Izalco rum and hopes to expand into further American and European markets this year.

The spirits producer, which currently markets its 10-year-old Ron Izalco in France, the UK and Denmark, is preparing to add a 15-year-old rum to its portfolio.
The new release will cater for “premiumisation” across the category, and comes as the brand looks to expand into further European markets and North America by the end of 2019.

Aged in ex-Bourbon barrels for 10 years, Ron Izalco is a blend of central American rums that has been developed for straight sipping and use in cocktails.
