Laki Kane founder pens Let’s Get Tropical cocktail guide

Georgi Radev, founder of London cocktail bar Laki Kane, has launched a new cocktail guide that teaches budding mixologists how to create tropical tipples at home.

Georgi Radev has published tiki drinks guide Let’s Get Tropical

Let’s Get Tropical was written by Radev, who previously managed London tiki den Mahiki, and includes the backstory and origins of classic tropical cocktails, including Caipirinhas and Margaritas.

The book also includes the lowdown on tropical spirits such as mezcal and cachaça, as well as cocktail making tips including shaking, blending and muddling.

At-home bartenders will also be able to learn how to create their own flavour combinations, craft eye-catching garnishes and make homemade syrups and infusions that can be used to “elevate” their cocktail making.

Let’s Get Tropical includes more than 60 recipes with “easy-to-follow” instructions and images of how the finished cocktail should look. Each classic cocktail in the book is also accompanied by a number of twists on the original recipe.

Imbibers will also find a selection of modern tiki recipes as well as a “lose the booze” option that explain how to create cocktails with “all of the tropical flavours but none of the hangover”.

Let’s Get Tropical is available to buy from select retailers for an RRP of £9.99 (US$13).

Earlier this month, SB rounded up its pick of the top tomes for spring, including a guide to Scottish gins and a manual on vermouth.
