Hepple Sloe and Hawthorn Gin set for UK launch

English spirits producer The Moorland Spirit Company has expanded its Hepple Gin range with the addition of a sloe and hawthorn berry-flavoured expression.

Hepple Sloe and Hawthorn Gin will launch in the UK in May

Hepple Sloe and Hawthorn Gin has been created by co-founders Valentine Warner and Nick Strangeway at the company’s distillery, located on the Northumberland Moors, England.

The gin was inspired by an abundance of sloe and hawthorn berries that grow on the grounds of the Hepple estate.

It is said to have “rich, fruity, almond” flavours from the sloe, combined with the “tart, intriguing dryness” from the hawthorns, with a touch of spice.

Bottled at 31% abv, Hepple Slow and Hawthorn Gin will launch in the UK on 23 May priced at £33 (US$43) per 500ml bottle.

Strangeway said: “The full fruit flavours of Hepple Sloe and Hawthorn Gin are the perfect complement to the sophisticated range of mixers that make light and elegant drinks in the summer.”

Last year, the Moorland Spirit Company released a Douglas fir-flavoured vodka – the first expression in its new experimental Explorer Edition series.
