Russian Standard unveils Moscow Mule RTD
Roust-owned vodka brand Russian Standard has released a canned ready-to-drink (RTD) Moscow Mule in the US.
Russian Standard Moscow Mule meets consumer demand for convenience
Bottled at 8% abv, the vodka-based Russian Standard Moscow Mule is sold in 4oz copper-coloured cans to replicate the traditional copper Moscow Mule mug.
The product has been released nationwide following a “successful” test launch in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Illinois and Florida.
“With the Russian Standard Moscow Mule, consumers can instantly enjoy one of the country’s most popular cocktails – no bartender necessary,” said Leonid Yangarber, CEO of Roust Americas. “It is like having a professionally made Moscow Mule at your fingertips.”
Russian Standard Moscow Mule is being rolled out across the US during the first quarter of 2019 in both the on- and off-trade. It is currently sold as a four-pack with the potential to launch as single cans in the near future.
Kellyann MacLean, director of marketing for Roust USA, said: “Our Moscow Mule is nicely aligned with current consumer trends.
“Consumers are looking for convenience, higher abv and the use of natural flavours – all of which our product offers.
“In our test markets, the product has been met with great enthusiasm from the trade and consumers alike who are loving the taste and the packaging.”
