Latest Grand Marnier release celebrates founder
Campari-owned liqueur brand Grand Marnier has honoured its founder, Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle, with the latest expression in its Cuvée Collection.
Cuvée Louis Alexandre is made with 82% VSOP Cognac and 18% orange liqueur
Cuvée Louis Alexandre has been created as an ode to the brand’s creator and was developed by master blender Patrick Raguenaud.
The new expression is a blend of 82% VSOP Cognac and 18% orange liqueur. The Cognac used has been aged in tronçais and limousin oak casks in Bourg-Charente.
Raguenaud said: “Cuvée Louis Alexandre is an exquisite liqueur and a fitting tribute to Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle. I was inspired by his fearless drive to push boundaries and create something truly unique.
“This expression is yet another intrepid creation from the House of Grand Marnier, ensuring we continue to twist tradition.”
Cuvée Louis Alexandre is described as having “notes of orange with nuances of citrus fruit flavours, softened by notes of oak and a touch of vanilla”.
The latest release in the brand’s Cuvée Collection is bottled at an abv of 40% and is available in select quantities across the US with a recommended retail price of US$69.99.
Last year, Grand Marnier teamed up with London-based creative hub Crucible to launch a training programme for bartenders.
