Glasgow Distillery reveals core single malt collection

The Glasgow Distillery Company is gearing up to release its flagship range, which will consist of three different styles of single malt Scotch whisky.

The launch of Glasgow Distillery Company’s flagship range will be staggered over the next year

The distillery’s Signature Range will include a 2019 iteration of its 1770 Single Malt, following the sold-out first release in 2018. The 2018 edition of 1770 was the first single malt Scotch created by an independent Glasgow distillery in more than 100 years.

The new range will also feature the 1770 Peated and 1770 Triple Distilled whiskies, further details of which will be announced in due course.

Glasgow Distillery’s no-age-statement 1770 Single Malt 2019 release is available to order now and will be shipped in April. The whisky has been matured in ex-Bourbon casks and finished in virgin casks.

1770 Peated will be available in late 2019 and 1770 Triple Distilled will launch in early 2020.

“It’s very exciting to finally reveal the news of our forthcoming Peated and Triple Distilled expressions,” said Liam Hughes, CEO and co-founder of The Glasgow Distillery Company.

“Innovation is very important to us, and the announcement of the 1770 Signature Range is no different. We’re proud to be one of a select few distilleries in Scotland to have three different styles of single malt as part of their core whisky offering.”

The Glasgow Distillery Company, which also produces Makar gin, is thought to be the first independent single malt-producing distillery based in the city since 1902. It was founded by Liam Hughes, Ian McDougall and Mike Hayward in 2012.
