Vinexpo NY to hold panel discussion on craft spirits

Wine and spirits trade show Vinexpo New York has announced its schedule of conferences and masterclasses, which will include a panel discussion on craft spirits and a tutored rum tasting.

Vinexpo New York will take place from 4-5 March 2019

Set to take place from 4-5 March 2019 at the Jacob K Javits Center, the show will feature a panel discussion called ‘What is a craft spirit?’.

Presented by Whisky Advocate, the discussion will take place on 5 March at 4-5pm in the conference room. The talk aims to help the industry to “better understand, relate, and sell the craft spirits movement”.

The seminar, which will be moderated by Whisky Advocate’s executive director Jeffery Lindenmuth, will feature panellists Paul Hletko, CEO and co-owner of Portland-based Few Spirits and The Winebow Group national spirits director Monique Huston.

Hletko is a former president of the American Craft Spirits Association (ACSA), while Huston brings 20 years of industry experience to her position.

A conference discussing the ‘Emerging technologies in the wine and spirits industry’ will also be held on 4 March at 4-5pm, led by Erica Duecy, editor-in-chief of SevenFifty Daily.

Vinexpo has also partnered with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) to offer free tasting sessions during the two-day show including food-and-wine pairings, sake, Napa Valley wines, Chablis and rum.

This year’s show will also feature an area showcasing organic spirits from around the world.
