Buffalo Trace Distillery offers virtual tours

Sazerac-owned Bourbon brand Buffalo Trace hopes to bring fans closer to its Kentucky distillery through a new virtual tour.

Buffalo Trace Distillery is now offering virtual tours

Last year, more than 230,000 visitors flocked to Buffalo Trace Distillery, representing a 345% increase in numbers since 2010.

Now, fans from around the world who are unable to travel to the distillery can enjoy an interactive virtual tour, and learn more about the site and how the brand’s Bourbon is made.

The tour’s appearance changes with the seasons, so users can view the distillery in bloom in spring, or snow-covered in winter.

Bottles of Bourbon have also been hidden around the tour, and users are invited to find them while exploring the grounds.

Buffalo Trace collaborated with New York-based digital creative agency Bajibot to create the virtual tour. More than 30 modelled 3D structures, 400 acres of distillery landscape and thousands of high resolution textures were created over the past two years to create the digital experience.

The virtual tour is free and can be downloaded from the Buffalo Trace Distillery website, and is compatible with Windows or Apple desktop computers, iPads and iPhones.
