9th January, 2019 by Owen Bellwood

UK-based bar operator Arc Inspirations saw its like-for-like sales rise by 6.5% over the 2018 festive period.

Arc Inspirations saw a Christmas sales boost in its bars, including Manhatta in Deansgate, Manchester

The company, which operates 18 bars across the north of England, saw its sales increase between 1 December 2018 and 1 January 2019, with figures for the final two weeks of the period rising by 14.9%.

Arc Inspirations CEO, Martin Wolstencroft, said: “December has been a very strong trading period for Arc Inspirations as guests seek out a differentiated and memorable experience to celebrate the festive season.”

The latest results from the bar operator also show that its three new bars in Manchester and Leeds were also trading strongly since opening in the autumn of last year.

Arc Inspirations’ new Manahatta bar in Deansgate, Manchester, was the stand-out performer, achieving average net sales of £110,000 (US$140,000) per week over the period.

The venue operator’s latest results also showed that pre-booked sales hit 30% across Arc Inspirations’ main brands and the best-selling cocktail across all bars was the Pornstar Martini, followed by the Aperol Spritz.

Wolstencroft said: “The business experienced great trading across all sites, which is testament to our fantastic, committed, hard-working teams, and clearly demonstrates that the proposition of our core brands is attractive to customers.

“It also illustrates that the time spent honing our strategy of operating sites in clusters, with several venues located in close proximity and complementary to each other, is paying dividends.”
