Meadows Gin launches in the UK

English drinks producer Northern Spirits Partnership has released its inaugural product, Meadows Gin, which was inspired by the “fine balance between beauty and chaos in nature”.

Meadows Gin is inspired by an English meadow

Based in Manchester, Meadows Gin has been created by brothers Stephen and Anthony Mitten, and their cousin Carl, who are all co-directors of the brand.

The gin was created after spending “countless hours walking in the great meadows of England”. It was designed to encourage consumers to “step back from their busy lives and regain their equilibrium”.

“The meadow is a special place for us,” said Anthony Mitten. “It’s a place where you can experience absolute peace and anarchy because nature is both serene and savage – you need both to really appreciate the world.”

Bottled at 42% abv, Meadows Gin features botanicals such as juniper berries, grapefruit peel, bergamot and lavender.

The combination of orange, lemon and lime, along with “subtle” spices has given the gin an “alluring, nuanced flavour”.

Carl Mitten said Meadows Gin is a “versatile, vibrant and distinctive spirit that can be enjoyed while lazing in front of the fire on a frosty winter evening or embracing the party spirit late into the night”.

The bottle design depicts an English meadow in gilded gold detail.

Meadow Gin is available in select bars, retailers and online to customers in the UK for an RRP of £45 (US$56.36) per 700ml, including delivery.
