Collagin launches ‘anti-ageing’ G&T candles

Pure collagen-distilled gin Collagin has created a range of “anti-ageing” gin and tonic candles for Christmas.

Collagin Rose is based on the brand’s pink gin expression

Collagin has partnered with Compass Candles to create 40 candles made from their bottles, which come in two scents: gin and tonic, or rose.

Each candle has a burn time of 50 hours and is priced at £25 (US$32) each, or £60 (US$76) for a gift pack that comes with a bottle of either Collagin Original or Rose Collagin.

Collagin, which is distilled with pure collagen, first launched back in 2017, and received a £50,000 (US$65,139) investment offer on BBC programme Dragons’ Den earlier this year to support its international expansion.

In August 2017, industry watchdog the Portman Group upheld two complaints that alleged the brand wrongly implies it has “health and beauty benefits”.

Camilla Brown, co-founder of Collagin, said: “We were never going to be just a drinks company. We launched with the mantra of mixing the worlds of beauty and booze together, and the overwhelmingly positive response to the candles just made it a no brainer.

“Sam [Crouch] from Compass Candles saw our Dragons’ Den episode and contacted us straight away about collaboration. We’ve only made a small amount to test the water and we’ve nearly sold out.”
