Redemption to open London’s ‘first’ alcohol-free bar

London-based vegan restaurant Redemption Bar is set to open its third site in December, which will feature the capital’s “first” alcohol-free cocktail bar.

Vegan eatery Redemption will open London’s “first” alcohol-free cocktail bar

The new venue will open in Neal’s Yard, Covent Garden, following a successful crowdfunding campaign earlier this year that raised more than £300,000.

The Covent Garden site will be split into a restaurant serving whole-food, vegan and gluten-free dishes, plus a bar serving booze-free drinks.

Redemption Bar’s cocktails will include the Pious Piña Colada, made from pineapple, lemon and coconut, and the My Thai, which combines lemongrass and chilli shrub with fresh lime and sparkling water.

The new site will also offer kombucha on tap and a selection of alcohol-free beers, wines and spirits.

Andrea Waters, co-founder of Redemption Bar, said: “The world really is our oyster when it comes to creative, plant-based foods and with this space we will be able to offer such an amazing choice to Londoners and visitors in an exciting and delicious way.”

The interior design is being led by co-founders Waters and Catherine Salway, with assistance from architect Atelier Khan. It will combine traditional and contemporary influences as well as Redemption’s colour scheme of teal velvet, marble, brass and coral neon pink.

Salway said: “When we first started out people thought we were mad, but we’ve worked hard to earn our stripes and with this beautiful flagship in the centre of London, it feels like Redemption is now realising its potential and we can bring the entire ‘spoil yourself without spoiling yourself’ vision to life.”
