Liviko opens interactive museum in Tallinn

Estonian spirits maker Liviko has opened a new interactive museum and is inviting visitors to tour its distillery in Tallinn for the first time in celebration of its 120th anniversary.

Liviko will show distillery visitors how its Vana Tallinn liqueur, Crafter’s gin and Viru Valge vodka are made

In addition to exploring its production facilities, guests will be able to experience Liviko’s recently completed interactive museum.

Developed by architects at Koko, the new museum will “showcase the stories” of Liviko’s Vana Tallinn liqueur, Crafter’s gin and Viru Valge vodka.

Each tour will consist of three stages: a walk around the production buildings; a visit to the interactive museum; and the chance to take part in a drinks masterclass with the Liviko Academy of Beverages, led by experienced sommeliers and bartenders.

“Estonians and visitors from abroad have expressed an interest in seeing what goes on in Liviko up close over the years, and now, for the first time, we’ll be offering visitors the chance to take a look at our factory in operation and our newly opened interactive museum,” said Liviko director Janek Kalvi.

“All of our products are produced in our historical buildings in the centre of Tallinn. During the excursions the visitors will get to see how a modern industrial company combines cutting-edge technology with knowledge and experience handed down from one master craftsman to the next, generation after generation.

“They’ll get to see the production process from A to Z, taking in everything from how the drinks themselves are made to them ending up in their bottles.”

The excursions will be led by guides in Estonian, Russian, Finnish or English and are designed for over-18s only.
