Lakes Gin gains nationwide listing with Co-op
Cumbria’s Lakes Distillery has signed a deal with Co-op to stock its gin in 263 of the supermarket chain’s UK stores.
The Lakes Gin, made in the Lake District, has gained a nationwide listing with Co-opThe Lakes Gin is already available in major and specialist retailers, as well as World Duty Free stores across all UK airports.
“We are thrilled and proud that The Lakes Gin has been listed in Co-op stores across the country,” said Nigel Mills, CEO of The Lakes Distillery.
“Our Lakes Gin, one of the first products we created, has gained recognition for being of a high standard and quality and this listing is testament to that quality and our provenance.
“Our premium portfolio competes with some of the biggest brands in the market and this is demonstrated by the confidence shown in our products by major retailers.”
Co-op has experienced “phenomenal growth” in gin this year as consumers trade up to more premium expressions.
In the 12 months to June 2018, UK gin sales and exports passed £2 billion (US$2.6bn) for the first time, according to the Wine and Spirit Trade Association.
