JJ Goodman to launch kitchen-inspired cocktail book

London Cocktail Club founder JJ Goodman is launching a book to inspire at-home cocktail creations using “everyday” ingredients, such as bacon, Coco Pops and Angel Delight.

The Bacon Egg Martini features in Kitchen Cocktails

Kitchen Cocktails also swaps certain traditional cocktail utensils, instead turning to items that can be found easily at home.

For example, Goodman suggests swapping a traditional cocktail shaker in favour of a jam jar, blender or protein shaker. Other household items include tea strainers, saucepans and chopsticks.

Chapters in the book cover different occasions, such as apéritifs and party starters, to hangover “cures” and retox cocktails.

Goodman has also strived to simplify “bartender lingo” with his book, offering “simple” measurement techniques and eliminating wastage of ingredients and finances by detailing how much each cocktail should cost.

Cocktails include the Mince Pie Flip, made with Scotch whisky, fruit mincemeat, egg, cream, vanilla extract, sugar syrup and fruit garnish. The book calculates the cost of making this cocktail to £1.05 (US$1.35).

Kitchen Cocktails is available to pre-order now from kitchen-cocktails.com for an RRP of £29.99 (US$39).
