The Whisky Exchange partners on exclusive US whiskeys

Award-winning retailer The Whisky Exchange has teamed up with American whiskey producers WhistlePig and Eagle Rare to bottle two exclusive single cask expressions.

WhistlePig and Eagle Rare have partnered with retailer The Whisky Exchange on two limited edition American whiskeys

The Whisky Exchange WhistlePig 10 Year Old Cask 4177 (59.8% abv) is a rye whiskey that’s said to be “packed full of delicious rye spice”. Only 132 bottles have been released, priced at £125 (US$160) each.

The Whisky Exchange Eagle Rare Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (45% abv) is described as being “fruitier” than the regular Eagle Rare, with flavours of sweet blackcurrant, stewed apples and mint. Only 198 bottles have been created at an RRP of £54.95 (US$70) each.

Both whiskeys are available to purchase online at thewhiskyexchange.com, as well as in the company’s two retail stores, which are situated in Covent Garden and Fitzrovia, London.

The Whisky Exchange opened its second London store in Great Portland Street, Fitzrovia, earlier this year.

Daniel Khan, WhistlePig’s export director, said: “Rye whiskey is booming, both in the US and internationally. WhistlePig is thrilled to partner with The Whisky Exchange for its 10-year-old single barrel offering.

“At cask strength, The Whisky Exchange’s selection is a beautiful example of just how robust and complex a rye whiskey can be, particularly when allowed to reach maturity.”

Sales of American whiskey through The Whisky Exchange have been “steadily rising” in recent years, growing 14% in volume year-on-year over the last year.

Dawn Davies, head buyer at The Whisky Exchange, said: “We are thrilled to partner with two fantastic producers and to show the diversity of whiskey that is coming out of America at the moment. We look forward to future collaborations.”
