SB Awards Lunch to recognise spirits excellence

As the festive season nears, The Spirits Business is gearing up to host its annual Spirits Masters Awards Lunch next month, when award winners from its series of blind-tasting competitions in 2018 will be recognised.

London restaurant Frederick’s will once again host the Spirits Masters Awards Lunch

Held at Frederick’s restaurant in Islington, London, on 22 November, the event will celebrate Silver, Gold and Master medallists from The Global Spirits Masters 2018.

During the lunch, The Spirits Business will also announce its Grand Spirits Masters – the producers that accumulated the most points in each competition – and its Taste Masters – the products deemed ‘best in class’ in each round.

In addition to enjoying a three-course meal and mingling with industry peers, guests will also have the opportunity to taste some of the most highly regarded entries from across the competition.

The event will be sponsored by Neptune Rum

“We look forward to welcoming our industry friends to the Spirits Masters Awards Lunch once more to celebrate the outstanding quality of production prevalent throughout the industry,” said Amy Hopkins, editor of The Spirits Business.

“As the spirits industry becomes ever more competitive, competitions such as The Global Spirits Masters are becoming increasingly important: they put brands large and small on a level playing field, and assesses them on the quality of their liquid alone.

“Congratulations to all our award winners – we look forward to toasting your success in London next month.”

The event will be sponsored by Marqués de Cáceres wines and Neptune Rum, which is distilled using sugarcane molasses from Barbados. The brand won a Master medal in the Gold flight of The Rum Masters 2018.

The Global Spirits Masters is a series of blind tasting competitions hosted and chaired by The Spirits Business and assessed by independent panels of expert judges. The competition spans established categories such as vodka and Scotch whisky, and also emerging categories such as world whisky and mezcal.
