Love Drinks encourages healthier hospitality industry

Love Drinks has partnered with Healthy Hospo and Mibody Outdoor Fitness on a new initiative to encourage a healthy work-life balance for those who work in the hospitality industry.

Love Drinks has partnered with Healthy Hospo and Mibody Outdoor Fitness to champion a healthier hospitality sector

The Love Well initiative aims to raise awareness of the importance of health and well-being both within companies and outside of them. The notion is based on the “simple equation” that ‘Love Drinks’ and ‘living well’ equates to the ‘Lфve Well’ ethos.

Love Drinks will work with not-for-profit social enterprise Healthy Hospo and health, fitness and well-being company Mibody to host monthly events that will educate industry members on health, fitness and well-being, and offer practical advice to improve the balance of their professional and personal lives.

Weekly blogs will also be posted on the Love Well page of the Love Drinks website, which the brand hopes will “encourage open discussion within the industry”.

Charitable fundraisers, monthly fitness events and regular health and well-being workshops are also scheduled to take place throughout 2019.

Kirsty Loveday, Love Drinks CEO, said: “I firmly believe that energy breeds energy and you need barrels to run a business in such an exciting and fast-paced environment like ours. But you also need to keep yourself in check and make sure you’re not burning the candle at both ends.

“Maintaining a very physical lifestyle has been integral to my mental well-being. Running your own business can be very demanding but I have been fortunate to shape my life to accommodate a healthy lifestyle.

“However, this is not as easy for people in certain roles within the hospitality industry. Therefore, I am placing a strong focus on supporting and educating our friends in the trade through Wellness Wednesdays, fitness classes, workshops and our partnership with the best in the business: Healthy Hospo and Mibody Fitness.”

Tim Etherington-Judge, Healthy Hospo founder and ambassador, said that “poor health, both mental and physical” has been accepted by the hospitality industry for too long.

“Kirsty Loveday and the team at Love Drinks know that it doesn’t have to be this way, as a business they live and breathe a healthy ethos and, like Healthy Hospo, are totally committed to improving the health and wellness of their team and those they work with,” he added.

“I couldn’t be more excited to have Love Drinks as a partner to bring this unique wellness platform to the UK for the first-time collaboration, as we continue our mission to build a healthier, happier bar industry.”
