Glasgow Distillery Co secures distribution in France

The Glasgow Distillery Company has signed a distribution deal in France with drinks specialist Dugas.

The Glasgow Distillery Company’s 1770 Scotch whisky will be available in France through Dugas

The agreement will see the Glasgow Distillery Company’s inaugural whisky, 1770 Glasgow Single Malt Scotch Whisky, distributed throughout France.

The expression was the first single malt created at an independent Glasgow distillery for more than 100 years.

The deal was cemented at the Club Expert trade show in Paris, hosted annually by Dugas, which welcomed more than 1,000 members of the drinks trade. François-Xavier Dugas, CEO of Dugas, and Liam Hughes, CEO of The Glasgow Distillery Company, signed the agreement during the show.

“We’re thrilled to sign the distribution deal for 1770 Glasgow Single Malt Scotch Whisky and are excited to partner with Dugas to widen our reach in France,” said Hughes.

“Dugas has an exceptional portfolio of brands that we are proud to be in the company of and its track record of success made partnering with them the obvious choice.

“The work they do to build strong relationships between brands and stockists is exactly what we are looking for, and from the beginning we’ve been filled with confidence in their dynamic approach.

“We’re looking forward to seeing our bespoke-designed bottles stocked in some of France’s premier cavistes, giving even more people the chance to savour 1770.”
