Bombay Sapphire ‘revolutionises’ G&T with edible paint
UK gin brand Bombay Sapphire has launched its own range of edible paints to enhance the flavour of gin and tonic serves.
The edible blue paint will infuse Bombay Sapphire gin and tonic
The Bacardi-owned brand has worked with leading UK bars Duck & Waffle, Mr Fogg’s House of Botanicals and Scout in London, Edinburgh’s Panda and Sons and Manchester’s Tariff & Dale to create a number of different serves featuring edible blue paint.
The Paint Collection has been produced in partnership with Duck & Waffle’s head of cocktail development, Rich Woods, and food and drink innovator Smith & Sinclair.
Each of the initial bars taking part in the programme has been given its own bespoke flavour of edible blue paint.
For each serve, the bars will paint a blue stripe on the inside of the glass to “slowly infuse” a “delicious flavour and a hint of colour into the drink”.
Renaud de Bosredon, Bombay Sapphire’s UK brand ambassador, said: “We’re super excited to launch the Bombay Sapphire Paint Collection and bring it to gin lovers across the country. We want people to have fun and be creative with the way they enjoy this iconic serve.
“Each essence has been carefully designed to complement our botanicals, showcasing the perfectly balanced flavour profile of Bombay Sapphire, and providing the ideal canvas for creative cocktails.”
Following the initial launch, Bombay Sapphire’s edible paints will roll out to more than 150 UK bars over the coming months. The first Blue Edition of the paint will be followed by different colours in the future.
