TFWA speakers and workshops revealed for Cannes show

The Tax Free World Association (TFWA) has announced the line-up of speakers and workshops for its upcoming World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes next month.

The upcoming TFWA World Exhibition & Conference will take place from 30 September to 5 October

As well as TFWA president, Erik Juul-Mortensen, who will deliver an opening address at the conference on Monday 1 October, speakers will include Dufry CEO Julián Díaz González, Gebr Heinemann co-owner Claus Heinemann, Lagardère Travel Retail CEO Dag Rasmussen, and King Power International senior executive vice president Susan Whelan.

The panel will address how the industry can adapt to meet new business challenges.

In the second part of the conference, former Nato secretary general Anders Fogh Rasmussen and scientist Dr Bertrand Piccard will take to the stage.

On Tuesday 2 October, a Digital Focus Workshop will highlight the importance of coherent digital strategies for brands and retailers operating in the duty free market.

Speakers will include Ivo Knuesel, head of category planning at Mondelez World Travel Retail; Shi Ling Tan, digital manager global at Shiseido Travel Retail; Jérôme Lepage, JCDecaux marketing and business development director; and Julie Lassaigne, European Travel Retail Confederation (ETRC) deputy secretary general.

On Wednesday 3 October, an Inflight Focus Workshop will look at the opportunities for airlines, concessionaires and brands to capitalise on rising passenger traffic.

It will include insight from Counter Intelligence Retail (CiR), which will reveal findings of a major new research study commissioned by TFWA.

Highlights of the report will be presented by one of its authors, Stephen Hillam, research director at CiR, and discussed by a panel of inflight retail executives, including Global Boutique Development’s Joe Harvey and Qatar Duty Free’s Thabet Musleh.

TFWA World Exhibition & Conference will take place from 30 September to 5 October at the Palais des Festival in Cannes.
