International Scottish Gin Day to launch in 2019

The Gin Cooperative has set aside 3 August 2019 to celebrate Scotland’s best tipples with the establishment of International Scottish Gin Day.

The first International Scottish Gin Day will take place on 3 August 2019

The organisers of International Scottish Gin Day 2019 hope it will provide an opportunity for Scottish gin producers, bars, restaurants, bottle shops and drinkers to discover, celebrate and promote the category throughout the day.

Businesses across Scotland are being encouraged to organise their own International Scottish Gin Day events.

Official supporters and stakeholders will be featured on The Gin Cooperative website while a dedicated International Scottish Gin Day website is being built. They will also be able to take part in promotional activities across both print and digital media in the lead-up to the inaugural day.

Natalie Reid, co-founder of The Gin Cooperative along with her husband Martin Reid, said: “We’re currently engaged with a variety of UK-based and international stakeholders to ensure that International Scottish Gin Day 2019 has the right global reach.

“We will be speaking with others within the Scottish gin community in due course to provide a collaborative approach so we can all tell the world how great Scottish gin is, who the people are behind Scottish gin, what their amazing stories are and more.

“With the scheduled promotional campaigns, we’ve estimated International Scottish Gin Day content, which will be rolled out between October 2018 and August 2019, will be seen by a global audience of close to 100 million people based on our own social media, website analytics and those of the Scottish gin makers and other stakeholders that we work with. This is before we’ve even added new participants from across the on- and off-trade sectors.”
