Fentimans and GBBO winner to open pop-up gin bakery

Tonic water producer Fentimans has partnered with artisan cake maker Pearl and Groove, and Great British Bake Off 2017 champion Sophie Faldo to create the UK’s first pop-up gin bakery.

Fentimans is opening a pop-up gin bakery in London

Located at gluten-free Pearl and Groove in Portobello Road, Notting Hill, the pop-up will be opened by Faldo in London on Friday (21 September) and will remain open until Sunday (23 September).

Customers will be able to indulge in an assortment of gin and Fentimans tonic-themed cakes, which will be available for £4.50 each or £23 for a box of six.

Gin and tonics will also be served to complement the sweet treats.

Fentimans has also created a list of G&T baking recipes, such as the pink grapefruit tonic cheesecake, gin and sparkling elderflower cupcakes, and a gin and botanical tonic bundt cake, which are available to access from the brand’s website.

Sarah Brownrigg, Fentimans marketing manager, said: “Our consumers’ love of baking has inspired us to find a way to bring together two of the nation’s favourite things – gin and baking, and what better time to launch the pop-up than during a month that sees Great British Bake Off return to our screens.

“We’re really excited to be working alongside 2017 GBBO winner Sophie Faldo and Pearl and Groove artisan cake makers on the pop-up and can’t wait to showcase our range of flavoured tonics in the G&T cakes.”

In January this year, Fentimans unveiled a £1.2 million (US$1.6m) brand redesign of its tonic water and mixers range.

Since then, it has been busy creating several new flavours, including rhubarb and yuzu-flavoured tonics, and a sparkling raspberry mixer.

Fentimans Gin Bakery will be located at Pearl and Groove in London’s Notting Hill
