Disneyland to open Star Wars cantina-style bar

Disneyland in California will open a bar in its upcoming Star Wars-themed area next year, called Oga’s Cantina.

Olga’s Cantina will open at Disneyland’s new Star Wars area next summer

The new drinking den will become part of Disneyland’s new themed section Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which is expected to open in summer 2019.

Oga’s Cantina in the Black Spire Outpost village will be “serving pilots, bounty hunters, smugglers, locals and galactic travellers” when it opens next year.

“Visitors come to this notorious local watering hole to unwind, conduct shady business, and maybe even encounter a friend…or a foe,” said Scott Trowbridge, portfolio creative executive at Walt Disney Imagineering in a Disney Parks blog post.

Run by an alien proprietor called Oga Garra, the cantina follows a “strict code of conduct” to manage “unruly” guests.

Guests will also be able to sample “concoctions created with exotic ingredients” and served in unique vessels.

According to the blog, music will be provided by RX-24, a “quirky and talkative” droid that has been introduced at a motion simulator attraction at several Disney theme parks.

The Walt Disney Company also plans to open a second Star Wars-themed area at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida next autumn.
