Wild Thyme Spirits launches bramble gin liqueur

Colonsay Gin maker Wild Thyme Spirits has expanded its portfolio with the launch of a bramble-flavoured gin liqueur.

Colonsay Gin Bramble Liqueur is made from blackberries foraged from across the island

Colonsay Gin Bramble Liqueur is described as an “autumnal variation of Wild Thyme Spirits’ Colonsay Gin”, which is produced on the Hebridean island of Colonsay.

The blackberry-based liqueur derives inspiration from the ancient Scottish tradition of the ‘tree calendar’, in which the bramble vine represented the month of Muin – or September as it is known today – as this was when bramble fruits would be gathered.

To create the bramble liqueur, Colonsay Gin is infused with blackberries that have been hand-foraged from hedgerows across the Scottish island.

The resultant spirit is described as a “full-bodied, rich liqueur, with a beautiful distinctive taste, subtle aroma and vibrant colour”.

Bottled at 20% abv, Colonsay Gin Bramble Liqueur is available in 500ml bottles with an RRP of £20 (US$25).
