Tito’s secures distribution deal in India

Texas-based Tito’s Handmade Vodka has entered the domestic Indian market after signing a distribution deal with Aspri Spirits.

Tito’s will be available in India through distributor Aspri Spirits

The distribution deal will focus on Delhi, Mubai and Bangalore. Tito’s will also be rolled out to other locations, including Goa, Chandigarh and Kolkata, later this year.

Over the past 18 months, Tito’s has been “building its presence” in the duty free market in India.

From September, Tito’s will be available in all major airport stores, including Dehli Duty Free, Dufry Bangalore, Maldives Duty Free, Flemingo Chennai, Goa and most recently Mumbai Duty Free and GMR Hyderabad.

Aspri Spirits co-founders Jackie Matai and Arun Kumar said: “We are delighted to add Tito’s Handmade Vodka, the godfather of the craft spirits movement, to our portfolio.

“Interest in cocktails is growing fast in India, opening up a huge opportunity for Tito’s and the fact that it is certified gluten-free will result in higher acceptance here as consumers are becoming increasingly gluten-conscious.”

Tito’s managing director international, John McDonnell, added: “This region offers huge promise for Tito’s, driven by the population’s desire to discover global trends.

“Dark spirits have historically dominated the market, but as the cocktail scene gathers momentum Tito’s will lead the charge for white spirits and for craft.

“We very much look forward to working in partnership with Aspri Spirits and establishing Tito’s in India.”
