‘Sexy’ dinner inspired by Greek gods comes to London

Sybarites are being invited to “dine like a deity” in a raunchy food and drink experience that “blurs the line between feast and fantasy”.

The Dionysus-inspired culinary event is set to get pulses racing and cheeks blushing

The “gender-bending theatrical dinner cabaret” is the brainchild of Shotgun Carousal, billed as a “female led production company and multi-disciplinary performance collective”.

Taking place from 14 September until 12 January at The Vaults in London’s Waterloo, the series of dining experiences – called Divine Proportions – take inspiration from the story of Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, fertility and theatre.

Guests will be taken on a journey of “pleasure, female beauty and sensuality, personal freedom, expression of gender fluidity and sexual desire” in a reimagining of Bacchic rites – a night of eating, drinking and dancing.

They will be hosted by Dionysus, with other Mount Olympus inhabitants such as Persephone, Aphrodite and Eros making cameo appearances in a “kitsch and raunchy” cabaret show.

Each of the food menu’s five courses is inspired by a key figure from Ancient Greek myths. Following dinner, guests will be transported to the ‘underworld’ to enjoy cocktails and wine.

“The world of Divine Proportions is the inclusive utopia we all dream of, and whilst the world still remains mythological, we’ll keep working our butts off to bring our dream world to life,” said Laura Drake Chambers, founder and creative director of Shotgun Carousal.

“It’s raunchy, sexy, unapologetically loud and if our audiences have as much fun experiencing this show as we’ve had creating it, we’ll have done Dionysus proud.”

A “wild” cabaret show will take place as guests dine
