WSTA names two new board members

The Wine and Spirit Trade Association (WSTA) has appointed Brown-Forman’s Jeremy Shepherd and Edrington-Beam Suntory UK’s Mark Riley to its board.

Shepherd, who is vice president, country manager, UK for Brown-Forman, and Riley, managing director of the newly named Edrington Beam-Suntory UK Distribution, attended their first board meeting at the trade association this week.

“The WSTA continues to build and strengthen its board team – each member of our board brings to the table a set of skills that make the WSTA more focused, more responsive and critically informed so we can best represent the views of our broad membership base,” said WSTA chief executive Miles Beale.

“The WSTA is doing more than ever before for its members and the industry in these uncertain and testing times.”

Shepherd and Riley join the WSTA as the organisation warns its members to “prepare for the worst” with regards to Brexit and the possibility of a ‘no deal’ scenario, which “risks companies going under, jobs being lost and consumers facing price hikes”.
