Smirnoff releases Moscow Mule flavour

Smirnoff vodka has launched a limited edition ginger and lime-infused expression to celebrate the brand’s creation of the original Moscow Mule cocktail.

Smirnoff Moscow Mule is an “easy, ready-to-mix option”

Smirnoff Moscow Mule is described as a “powerful flavour combination of zesty ginger and tangy lime”, while the bottle’s copper colour design pays homage to the copper mug that the cocktail is typically served in.

The new expression also taps into the trend for at-home cocktail making – consumers can simply add ginger ale or ginger beer to the expression to make a Moscow Mule.

“With the introduction of Smirnoff Moscow Mule, our goal is to give people an easy, ready-to-mix option to create Moscow Mule cocktails at home, that is also fun and flavourful,” said Jay Sethi, vice president, Smirnoff, Diageo North America.

“As the original vodka of the Moscow Mule, we pride ourselves on our cocktail heritage and on being the first to mix up this cocktail in 1941. Now, over 75 years later, we’re excited to announce a new flavour dedicated to this popular drink.”

Smirnoff Moscow Mule joins the brand’s limited edition offering, which includes Smirnoff Peppermint Twist and Smirnoff Red, White & Berry.

Bottled at 30% abv, Smirnoff Moscow Mule has an RRP of US$14.99 per 750ml bottle. It is also bottled in 50ml format. The expression is available until September 2018 from select retailers across the US.
