Shooting and whisky come together in new London bar
By Amy HopkinsScotland-inspired restaurant Mac & Wild is bringing a slice of Highland life to London with the opening of a new virtual shooting and whisky bar in the city.
Guests can shoot virtual clays, rabbits, pheasants, grouse, deer, boars and bears while sipping their drams
Located on the lower ground floor of Mac & Wild’s Devonshire Square site, the Shooting Range and Whisky Bar has been “designed to satisfy beginners and professionals alike”.
Mac & Wild recruited Blair Bowman, whisky expert and founder of World Whisky Day, to curate a whisky menu and events schedule that is “approachable, accessible and fun”.
The venue has also teamed up with Glenfiddich and Monkey Shoulder to create “unique and interesting” whisky serves – such as whisky slushies, Highball whiskies and a daily ‘Whisky Happy Hour’ from 5-7pm. The Whisky Bar is open every Tuesday-Saturday from 5pm till late
The bar will also incorporate two virtual shooting lanes equipped with shooting systems and replica shotguns that can target virtual clays, rabbits, pheasants, grouse, deer, boars and bears.
The lanes can accommodate groups of two to 40 people and are available to book by the hour Monday-Saturday, 12pm-11pm.
Mac & Wild’s Shooting Range and Whisky Bar will also host ‘Drams in the Dark’ whisky experiences, which have been created in collaboration with Bowman.
Beginning on 27 July and taking place every Friday and Saturday night, the masterclasses will “take guests on a multi-sensory experience in complete darkness”. Tickets cost £40 and include four to five drams and pairing canapés.
