Castro, famed for his work in San Diego’s bar scene, will be involved with the company “on a multifaceted level”, including research and development, business strategy, cocktail development, and national and global advocacy.

Castro founded San Francisco’s Rickhouse and Bourbon & Branch before opening award-winning venues such as San Diego’s Polite Provisions and Raised by Wolves, as well as New York City’s Boilermaker.

More recently, he co-wrote and directed the Bartender at Large series, and founded the Simple Serve boutique drinks marketing company with Chris Pantino.

“As a long-time fan of Arizona Distilling Company, I am thrilled to come on board as partner, and to be given the opportunity to help spread the word on their amazing spirits,” said Castro.

“So much of what they make is truly unique and unlike anything else on the shelf that I just knew that I had to get involved with what they were doing.”

Arizona Distilling Company is a microdistillery that uses local ingredients to create its products, which are named after elements of Arizona’s heritage, including: Desert Durum Wheat Whiskey, Commerce Gin, Humphrey’s Arizona Malt Whiskey, Park Rye Whiskey, Mission Vodka and Copper City Bourbon.
