Bar Convent heading to São Paulo in 2019
On-trade show Bar Convent will increase its international footprint next year with the inaugural Bar Convent São Paulo event.
Bar Convent São Paulo will launch in June 2019
Set to take place on 16 and 17 June 2019, the first Bar Convent event in Brazil will see local bar owners and bartenders given the opportunity to mingle with international spirits brands and industry professionals.
Michael Freter, managing director of Reed Exhibitions Deutschland, said: “After the launch of the Bar Convent Brooklyn, the expansion to South America now is the second logical step in our global strategy.
“We’re thus expanding our offer to the industry to bring together providers and users in exciting markets for direct talks.”
Bar Convent São Paulo will be hosted by show organiser Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado in Brazil, and Reed Exhibitions Deutschland, the organiser of Bar Convent in Berlin.
Annual consumption of premium spirits in São Paulo is expected to rise by 3% between 2018 and 2019, according to Bar Convent.
Bar Convent hosted its first international show outside of Germany this year, Bar Convent Brooklyn in the US.
Paulo Octávio Pereira de Almeida, vice president of Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado, said: “We want to support the bar industry in Brazil in increasingly positioning itself on the list of the 100 best bars worldwide.
“The trade show won’t just showcase the latest trends in the spirits market, it will also make available international and local content for the bartender community in the entire country.”
