Aldi launches spirits delivery service to ‘meet demand’

Supermarket chain Aldi has launched an online delivery service for its spirits range across the UK.

The supermarket’s Gin Festival Range will be available to purchase online

The online store has been launched to “meet demand” for Aldi’s “quality spirits offering”.

The German discount chain will offer 20 spirits for delivery to customers including Oliver Cromwell London Dry Gin, Highland Black Scotch Whisky and Old Hopking Premium White Rum.

The supermarket’s Gin Festival Range, featuring “on-trend” products, will also be available to purchase.

In addition, there will be a ‘create your own case’ option, allowing customers to mix and match spirits and wine for purchase.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “The incredible success of our spirits range this year, including a 75% increase in gin sales alone, has proven that our offering is more popular than ever.

“We launched our online wine store two years ago to ensure that our great quality and incredible value products were accessible to all of our customers, even if they don’t currently live near an Aldi store. We are delighted to now be doing the same for spirits, opening up our award-winning range to thousands more customers across the country.”

The online service is available to customers in the UK with no minimum order, with the exception of Northern Ireland.

In February this year, Aldi was reprimanded by the UK’s advertising watchdog for producing a spirits advert that appealed to children.
