Travel retail head Kevin Baker departs Marie Brizard

Kevin Baker has stepped down as global travel retail director for French drinks group Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits (MBWS).

Kevin Baker has led Marie Brizard’s travel retail unit for three years

Baker, who was appointed to the role in 2015, has left the firm to pursue personal interests. He has 30 years of experience in the drinks industry, with previous roles at Nuance Group, Brown-Forman, Diageo and World of Patria International.

“I am somewhat sad to be leaving the industry after so long, and want to thank all those that have contributed to a tremendous experience,” said Baker.

“I’ve made many friends along the way and it’s unfortunate that I won’t get to see them frequently at the various exhibitions and social events, but I will of course stay in touch.

“However, I am also excited to start this next chapter of my life, where I can spend more time with my family and do the things I love (not that I didn’t love work!). You could say my real life is only just beginning.”

MBWS will announce a successor for Baker in due course.

Earlier this year, MBWS appointed chairman Benoît Hérault to the role of CEO on a temporary basis after the group “ended” the tenure of Jean-Noël Reynaud.
