Suntory to debut Hibiki Blender’s Choice
Suntory is set to expand its Japanese whisky portfolio with the launch of Hibiki Blender’s Choice.
Suntory’s Osaka-based Yamazaki Distillery
Launching on 4 September 2018, Hibiki Blender’s Choice will be made from “carefully selected and diverse aged whiskies”.
The use of wine cask-aged whiskies gives the expression a “round, sweet, yet deep profile”.
Bottled at 43% abv, the average age of the component whiskies is around 15 years old.
Hibiki Blender’s Choice will be available primarily in the on-trade in Japan. It will have an RRP of JPY10,000 (US$91.20).
The news comes just weeks after Suntory confirmed it will discontinue its Hibiki 17 Year Old and Hakushu 12 Year Old Japanese whiskies “at some point” after this year due to stock shortages.
Earlier this year, Suntory created a new Japanese whisky collection – called The Essence of Suntory Whisky – which includes experimental bottlings from the Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries.
