Sazerac names new chief financial officer

Buffalo Trace and Southern Comfort owner Sazerac has appointed Christopher R Skinger as its chief financial officer (CFO).

Skinger will take over from current CFO Paul Pape, who is retiring this month (June).

In his most recent position, Skinger worked as vice-president, chief accounting officer and global head of risk management at Kraft Heinz Company.

He first joined Kraft Food Group in 2006 and worked through various finance roles, and in 2015 he led the corporate finance teams through the merger of Kraft and Heinz, propelling the company to the status of the world’s fifth largest food company.

Skinger qualified as a certified public accountant in 1999 and holds a bachelor of science in accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Sazerac commented on the departure or Pape in a statement, which read: “We would like to thank Paul Pape very much for his contributions to Sazerac.

“He has played an integral role in successfully steering Sazerac through the fastest growth period in the company’s 168-year history. We wish Paul all the best for a wonderful retirement.”
