The Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac (BNIC) has unveiled the 22 bottles that will form the 11th La Part des Anges charity auction.

Scheduled to take place on Thursday 20 September, the 22 bottles will be exhibited until 17 June at Artcurial in Paris.

Cognac lots include the Grande Fine Champagne Authentique de Fontpinot, by Cognac Frapin; Carte Blanche à Baptiste Loiseau, by Rémy Martin; and Cognac Ferrand, Fondation 1630, by Maison Ferrand.

Other donors this year include Bache-Gabrielsen, Courvoisier, Hine, Martell, Louis Royer, La Maison Larsen, Tiffon and Cognac Meukow.

Furthermore, this year’s auction features 15 special lots, including a stay for two people in the Cognac appellation.

French chef Thierry Marx has been appointed patron of this year’s auction. As such, part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Cuisine Mode d’Emploi(s), a culinary school created by Marx in 2012 that teaches young people who didn’t perform well at school and ex-convicts a profession related to cooking – all free of charge.

The remaining money will be donated to Association Fraineau, which works to support young mentally handicapped people with a programme of learning by cooking.

Since the first La Part des Anges auction, more than €1.1 million has been raised for charity.

Last year’s auction allowed bidders from outside of the region to compete for exclusive lots for the first time.
